The main leading symptom that we usually seek medical help for is pain. What we all should do, and I cannot stress this enough, is sports. Active sports are the key to a healthy skeleton. Males are not in danger of osteoporosis until they are 75, but women are in danger after 45 years, which is when they enter menopause. So, engaging in sports is very important for both males and especially for female when it comes to bone health. For the joints and muscles, it always comes down to sports and to maintaining a healthy weight. We see a lot of people who are overweight or morbidly obese right now, so maintaining proper weight is very important for good bone health.
Chiropractic is not scientifically proven, but it can help some people. Chiropractic is a different type of physical therapy.
Omega 3 is better for the heart than the bones. The body benefits from a balanced diet. Omega 3 is not very essential but it’s good for the heart, cholesterol, but when it comes to bones, a normal diet is just enough. You don’t have to take Omega 3 particularly for the bones.
All types of cheese can be consumed. Cheese has a very good concentration of calcium, and it causes less problems for people who do not like milk or have bloating because of milk. Of course, not for people who are lactose intolerant, but cheese is easier on the stomach.
The knee is a very sensitive joint. During work, it’s the knee flection all the time that causes all the problems. In the young population, the knee problem is mainly caused by the Patella and the Patella hates it. It’s not comfortable in deep flexion and in constant flexion. So, we should move our legs. It's nice and important, especially for ladies and the young population. If you treat Patella well, you will have a healthy knee. So, extend your knee, do not go to deep flexion. When you go to the gym, do not do deep squats for a long time, and you will maintain a good Patella.
One small sign that could lead us to pay more attention to Patella is the sounds or cracks that we hear from the from the joint. These in younger population, those cracks are caused by the misalignment of the Patella which can develop into patellofemoral syndrome and later some serious problems.
Magnesium is a little bit different because we have magnesium citrate and magnesium oxalate. It depends on what is the type of museum you want for yourself, for your body. If you want help with falling asleep, nerves or muscles, it varies. Every type of magnesium comes with its own chart of things it helps with, but in general, all magnesium’s are good for us.
As far as orthopedic experts know, vitamin D is crucial for bone health. Personally, I don’t believe it has significant effects on other aspects like memory, weight, energy, or sleep. There are numerous studies on vitamin D, attributing it to various aspects of our lives. However, just remember that our bodies can produce their own vitamins. If you have a balanced diet and spend some time in well-lit areas, your body will generate sufficient vitamin D without needing direct sunlight.
There’s no need for most people to take vitamin D supplements. According to recommendations from the American Association, vitamin D supplementation is primarily necessary for children in their growth phase, individuals over 75 years old, and pregnant women. The general population does not need daily vitamin D intake.
We usually intake more than enough calcium and vitamin D from our food. If we stress a little bit on one of them, we will intake enough calcium. What is more important is that people who need more calcium, such as pregnant women and lactating women, people who have fractures, they all need to meet the requirement of 1500 milligrams of calcium. Sometimes we give them medication and I recommend the medication for women over 45. The World Health Organization supports this. Otherwise, if we have a balanced diet, it’s usually enough.
I have nothing against supplements. Although the human body is amazing and can get all what it needs from normal diets, supplements are not bad. Medical necessity does not apply to supplements; it applies to treatment with certain things. Those over-the-counter supplements are just like eating a nice meal.
High uric acid levels do not lead to bone problems; they lead to joint problems, specifically gout. For every 10 people who have high uric acid levels, nine will never face any problem in their joints. Gout, which is a very difficult disease, is very easily treatable when diagnosed correctly.
A sedentary lifestyle is a major factor. Typically, we wake up in the morning, ride in our car, get stuck in traffic, drive to the office, and then sit in a chair for 8 to 9 hours. After work, we get back in our car, go home, have a big meal, and lie down. This lifestyle is not good for the musculoskeletal system. It needs some type of sports or activity. Ideally, you should exercise for at least 20 minutes per day, four to five days a week. Simple walking can suffice; you don’t have to go to the gym and lift weights. Even gardening can help. Just move your body. The musculoskeletal system is a moving entity and should be used, with weight applied to the bones
As much as we can exercise, it’s always good for the body. However, it is recommended to exercise for at least 20 minutes daily, four to five days a week.
It depends on the injury. If there is an active injury or damage, it needs to be addressed. If no damage has occurred, it’s easily reversible. You can strengthen the weak muscles, alter your posture, and adopt healthier positions. Physical therapy and sports will help, and everything can return to normal unless there is permanent damage in the joint, which should be treated.
